What luggage to take on a cruise

Everyone has a first time on a cruise, so you might not fully understand what you should and should not take when you go. Here are a couple of things to consider when you pack for your first cruise.

How much luggage.

Remember that unless you happen to live near the cruise port, you will most likely need to fly or drive to your destination. In the same way as when you go on a holiday to Spain or Greece, you shouldn't pack more than you need. You might want to take your laptop or iPad with you so you can play partypoker or check Facebook, but it might be an unnecessary weight on you as you walk around the cruise terminal. Try to limit yourself to one luggage, one carry-on bag and one personal item, like a purse or briefcase.

What clothing to pack

This is the easiest part of packing. Take with you the items you would usually wear to the beach, around the pool or for when you walk around town. Skirts, shorts, swimming costumes, casual evening wear, anything that is light. Remember to bring something a little warmer just in case the weather isn't always warm. Count your outfits to make sure you will have enough to wear throughout the entire cruise.

Dining Room dress code

It is expected on most cruises that you do not wear, shorts, t-shirts, jeans, tank tops or go bare foot in the dining area, so make sure you pack for this. The dress code will be casual most of the time, so sun or casual dresses, casual trousers, skirts, button-up shirts or polo shirts can be worn for dinner each night. Many cruises have at least one formal night where you can wear something a little dressier.

Make sure you write yourself a packing list. Including the toiletries you'll need and your travel pack, you won't want to forget anything.

We offer those tours we personally experienced, thoroughly enjoyed and definitely recommend to our families and friends... CozumelWaterSports 2005-2012
